So what's everyone planning? So far it looks like it might be a great weekend!

I've heard kings are coming into Whittier, of course homer should be a good bet, Seward ?

I kinda want to try somewhere new but tried and true works also.

Michele and I are considering something a tad less exciting but new this weekend.  Serious consideration for seward and hitting Tonsina area with fly rods.  Of course I'll carry my saltwater rod as well.  Dollies and anything killing smolt hopefully coming down the river.  If we could hit Herring, that would be ultra cool.

I would love to be out on the salt this weekend, unfortunately I have to appease the less adventurous half and take the wife camping and canoeing.

Good luck guys!!

Too early to tell yet. This weekend my Way Better Half gets to set the itinerary. Maybe Seward if the Swanson area lakes don't open by tomorrow...

Retreating lake ice has me tempted to find some trout and char.

I'm almost thinking about maybe kenai lake for lake trout. I've never done any good there but man there should be some nice fish in there I would think

Hidden Lake off Skilak Lake Rd. is supposed to have pretty good fishing. Might be worth a try.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

We've possibly upped the ante to a water taxi ride out to fox island spit in resurrection  bay.  At minimum we plan to do millers landing to Tonsina creek.

We were out there on Wednesday last week -- full of bait fish, and south of the spit (in the narrows) there were numerous humpbacks and Stellar sea lions as well. If the winds are northerly, then take the drop off at Sunny Cove on Fox Island instead -- a very nice area to paddle too. Have fun!

We will be at Swanson all weekend, stop by if you make  it out. With this group you prolly can't miss us. ;)

Ok.  We booked to Fox Island Spit on Sat.  Depating at 9:30am from Millers landing.  Pick up at 4:35pm.  I will change to Sunny Cove on a north wind as suggested by Akfishergal.  Should I just go there anyways?

I think we are going to do Tonsina Cr out of Seward Sunday or a Lake with our flyrods on Sunday.
