Need user name help...please

Just changed my user name from CastIronTrout to RevoDave (formerly CastIronTrout) but when I tried to log in with the new user name, I received a message stating the name did not exist.    So, I dropped the (formerly CastIronTrout), not wanting to type all of that in each time. Unfortunately, I just found out that didn't work either. My user dashboard says Hello RevoDave, but I have to log in still as CastIronTrout. Does this seem a little strange to any of you IT types, or is this normal? I'm trying to put this out to the general membership because I think if I bug Polepole again this week, I'm probably going to get my butt removed from the forum completely.

Wait...So when you type in "Noah" as your user name and then your pw, you log on, right? Or you have to type in a previous user name you use to have, even though you go by Noah?

My previous, and first, user name was noahk. When I log on from a new computer I have to use that user name

Okay, thanks guys. Apparently I need to adapt to signing in with the old user name, in order to use the new one.    I thought by changing my username it would also change my sign in credentials.

It does not.  As a side note, makes it harder for your account to get compromised
