We all see random stuff that other people might be able to use from time to time, but I don't like starting a new thread for every single item. Could we start a sticky in the classifieds where people could drop links to hot deals that they stumble upon? People could post up Craigslist links etc. and retailers and manufacturers could announce special/limited time offers or new products/lines.

Kind of like the morning laugh, except for it's about the gear. If it's an item you are offering and you want to describe it and field questions, and announce to everyone it's sold. Then go ahead and start a separate thread. If it's a deal you see, but don't have any info to add, lump them all together.

I have no objections to classified ads posted on this forum by members of this forum.  However, I think the administrators of this forum should delete advertisements posted by retailers, and should certainly not be encouraging retailers to post advertisements anywhere on this forum.  If retailers discover that they can post free ads on this forum, the forum will get bombarded and swamped with ads and other spam from all across the country, and will become far less interesting to actual kayak anglers.  I've seen it happen on other forums.

I agree and from what I've seen I'm pretty sure the admins here wouldn't let it go that direction.

Fwiw, when I post good deals I see at Bi-Mart or Fisherman's it's just because I frequent those places, and not because I'm supported by them or anything.

If they could only post to one section without being flagged or deleted it wouldn't clutter up anything.

It doesn't look like it has the drive system, I didn't realize that they made a version of the Slayer that was paddle only?  I could be wrong but they didn't mention it as one of the features either.

Correct, it's the paddle-only version.
