WOW.  what a trip!!  I will let Allen keep telling the story day by day and add a few pictures along the way.  Here is Allen and Bill with the first night's dinner.

Getting back east was an adventure almost as wild as the trip.  I had a friend pick me and Dave up at the airport and we had no problem getting Dave home first,  but getting to my house with all the floods from the hurricane was just about impossible.

After going through all the options,  I had my wife meet me on the other side of a 500 foot flooded road so I could get to my house.  I had to open up one of my bags and put on my wet smelly waders and carry my bags about chest high to the other side.  There was some fast water at the center of the road,  but very small steps and I made it without falling in.  I wasn't so lucky in a salmon stream, where I fell twice on the rocks trying to retrieve one of Allen's 25 cent pink salmon flies!

More pictures to come!

After which we started a chapter of the trip that we like to call "Brokeback Kayak Fishing".

Even Bill caught a few!

Oops!   >:D >:D >:D

I was tossing the fly rod and hooked a couple.  Dave asks me if he can try it out.  I handed him the rod.  He looks at me and asks, "what do I do?".  I tell him, "don't worry, you'll figure it out".  The line was still out in the water and on his first strip, he hooks up and shortly after lands his first Alaska pink salmon on the fly.

Dave figuring it out!

I got to tell you, those pink salmon flies I bought were money.  I watched one school of pinks get spooked by a couple of the kayaks heading up river.  One of them proceeded to peel off from the pack and attack the fly I had dangling in the water feet in front of me.

Here is Allen,  with his first of many pinks with the fly rod.

Here is Dave's first pink with Allen's rod.  I think he hooked up within seconds of getting the rod handed to him.

I know this guy, Bill?
And, he's like totally Testosterone heavy?
Anyway, he's like totally brute force crazy that way.
Oh, and did I mention he's got giant feet and the total Woverine chops?
You know?
