Looks like On Water Designs (Tim Niemier) is doing a limited run of these legendary boats.

That video on the link is really cool.
I'll never whine about a wipeout ever again, on the grand huli scale mine are entirely unspectacular.
Those kayaks are pretty sweet. If Hobie made rudders that big you could pull some serious evasive maneuvers.

Holy Cow! That looks like fun!!!
I like the hull design on these. They look fast and controlled.
One of these days I'll learn the Eskimo Roll...............

Wow!!! And I thought my day at work was punishing. I'll just live that vicariously thru that video clip. Narly, dudes. :o :o :spittake: :spittake:

pretty cool looking boat. Tsunami Rangers have issues ;D
I like how the SOT bulbous keel thing has hard lines/sharper edges and is more tapered than most SOT's. Looks like it would handle more like a HP boat and less like a barge.
I'd like to paddle one, I've only seen the older FG boats they use....and they looked like SOT polo boats.

Tim also designed the Diablo Paddlesports kayak ...http://www.diablopaddlesports.com/ (http://www.diablopaddlesports.com/)

I think the diablo stuff looks cool, but man, I wouldn't want to push that thing around. I'd want to put a motor on it.
The coyote 14 is more what I've been looking for I think. I'd like to paddle one though. Already e-mailed the boss to see if we could pick up a couple.
Thanks for sharing.

Problem with the coyote 14 is, were do you put the milk crate? and whats a kayak fisherman without a milk crate.

I talked to Tim today. The Coyote is nothing more than a Scupper. Apparently he retained the rights to them.

I think it was Sea Kayaker magazine about a year ago that had a feature on the Tsunami Rangers. from that i knew they had been doing some legendarily wild surfing and rock gardening, but seeing it on video really brought home how wild they were.

that video is crazy i almost feel bad for those boats ;D they sure can take a beating
