Not to beat a dead horse on the PC thing, ... Has everyone seen what the beach traffic situation looks like on a Saturday in July lately? It certainly is not what it used to look like. It's an absolute disaster. Now imagine an extra 60 (being conservative here) rigs trying to get on/off the beach. Then throw in the increase in backup because 1 in 5 of those extra rigs gets stuck in the sand and blocks traffic.

Two words: Cluster F...

Not to beat a dead horse on the PC thing, but something that hasn't been mentioned yet, which would be one of the sole reasons that the Dorymen would hate us for it, is the increase of beach ramp traffic it would cause. Has everyone seen what the beach traffic situation looks like on a Saturday in July lately? It certainly is not what it used to look like. It's an absolute disaster. Now imagine an extra 60 (being conservative here) rigs trying to get on/off the beach. And you are not even throwing in the wine sipping city slickers with the fancy "4wd" button on their dash.  They have no clue that it only engages the other set of wheels, and does not turn on common sense or the ability to actually drive in sand.

I was down there a month ago on a really nice day just chilling with my daughter.  No kayakers, and only two Dory trailers on the sand.  Dingbats were getting stuck coming down the ramp, going up the ramp, out in the soft sand down the beach, on the hard pack, and I swear in the damn Pelican Pub parking lot on the bare pavement!  Freaking idiots with no sense.

It is not quite ready to take funding yet. Sorry. The idiot running the Facebook page jumped the gun. I am sure when he gets time he will fix that. He apologizes profusely.

I will for sure be there as well. I have had a room reserved at the Worldmark since last summer. However I reserved the 5th thru the 7th for the event. Two years ago I did the same thing and I set up a spotting scope on the patio table for my wife. She really enjoyed getting to watch me fish.
Now a friend of mine decided to get married on the 6th. I have been running a debate thru my head about how to tell them that a fishing tournament is more important than being at their wedding. So I am glad to see the event is the next weekend 😁.
I may have to rough it like a commoner, but that is ok, my princess ass can survive one weekend in a tent for this event!

Chinook Bend has campers that you can rent to stay in instead of a tent... if they haven't been all taken already.
That's where my princess ass stayed last year.  :banjo:

Guys, my Granddaughters are forcing me to add this to the conversation: if you need a mattress to sleep on, your asses aren't 10% as tough as a princess' posterior, so you obviously meant "your princely ass".

FYI.. I just added the ORC PayPal link to the forum.  It should be visible on the bottom of the left hand side column on every page (at least on the desktop version of the site).

Note... our main sponsor American Kayak Supply is handling the PayPal this year, so don't be surprised when that name shows up on the PayPal instead of myself or NWKA as in past years.
