Anyone want to shoot for a trip about mid april, like saturday the 14th or the 21st? Its a little early to commit to a spot just yet, but maybe we can all commit to a date. Either weekend works for me.

Great idea.....you guys and girls need to make this happen. You will all benefit.

Plus------it'd be a nice warm up for the Anchor River Calcutta.

          Do it soon.....
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Count me in.  Either date works for me -- Saturdays are wide open, Sundays are more problematic.  With enough notice, I can make most anything work.  There's a good halibut tide out of Ninilchik April 14, 15 and 16 -- if that's a factor in planning. Part, I suppose, depends on whether you want to do something more like a shake-out trip (trial run kind of thing) or get straight to fishing. I always think of Whittier for a quick trip to get on the water, but I've also been thinking lately of Seward to fish early Dollies -- and to scope access and conditions at the mouth of the Resurrection River, in anticipation of that early red run.

Rudy, hope we can work something out that allows you to participate. Would be nice to meet The Famous Kardinal, the man behind the videos. Alternatively, any of you guys look at the schedule for seminars at the Sportsman's Show (Anchorage) yet? That might make for another place to meet up and further discuss an on-the-water event. There's one on king salmon fishing in lower Cook Inlet that would be a good way to stoke the fires for the Anchor Point derby...

Thanks for getting the thread started, RFM. Good idea.

I think this is just the thing to get me over the trauma of paying my taxes. See you on the 14th.

I would love to go either of those weekends but I am back on the slope working. OH well, I have the 7th and 28th off in April. I know I will be making a few trips down this summer. Good luck!

I'm so pumped there is a core group of us actually planning all of this. We are going to take AK by storm.  Yes, there are people ahead of us including polepole, funngunnin, Howard in Ketchikan, and Chris from liquid adventures.  I hope they will join us in our efforts.  We are all going to take all of this to the next level.

I'm sorry I am having some serious commitment issues.  It's actually good news in that I manage the only subsidiary that will likely hit budget out of 5, but because of that I'm being asked to do more than I expected.  Throw in ex-wife issues and  my kids and all the sudden fishing becomes the number three priority in life.

Mid april, I'm thinking Homer is the spot.  A shakedown cruise in Cook Inlet is a bit dicey. My first few times was TOUGH!  One time I walked two miles back up the beach.  Any fish accessible at Deep Creek will be accessible in Homer and there is minimal current to deal with.    The alternative is Whittier.  Easy and I'd love to bring up a few shrimp.  But we aren't going to catch much.

I should know a bit more next week.
