Well, it's time to get the boat wet. I'm gonna catch the incoming tide at the mouth of the Kenai River and float up to Cunningham. There's been several reports of Belugas up river chasing the Hooligan run. I don't plan on wetting a line but could be a good photo opportunity. If anyone is in the area and wants to join in, I'll be launching at around 1430.

Rudy- if you're reading this, how long do you think this float will take with "lazy" peddling? Maybe Kenai dock would be a better launch point...
Also-what's the best bait/lure for Belugas?  ;)

See you guys on the water...Whiskey Gulch is calling me.....

It really depends on the tide and when you launch.  It took me about an hour and a half I think to get up to Eagle Rock.  You won't be able to zip right back down because the tide still needs to come in then start flowing back out again.

A couple of hours after high tide, the lower river is still fairly slack water.  This early, the take out will be a lot easier at the Boat ramp but it will take a lot longer.  Not so much due to distance, but the speed in which the tide will flow out I think.
