Huge thanks to Promar for putting up all our prizes for the tournament and was a real success for it. Big thanks to Next Adventure for the last second swag, too.

Conditions worked out pretty well for the tournament. The headland protected us for most of the day but then switched up direction to kick us out at 12, almost exactly like Spot and Kykfshr predicted. Respect the locals! ;) The day started out a little cold and we carried all the kayaks out to the beach. Everyone got to dropping traps and before long Jammer had the first few keepers in his rings. He was working them hard and that was the first hint of what was to come. Most people were getting undersize crabs but got bigger as the tide came back in. I'll let everyone post their own stories so here's the final standings.

1st: Jammer: 1.56# Dungie
2nd: Lee: 1.32# Dungie
3rd: The Nothing: Jigged 1.1# Dungie

We had a nice sunny spot afterwards where the boil went down. The feast was pretty ridiculous and we had more crab than we could all (including family members) eat. That was some tasty crab! A big thanks to The nothing for bringing the crab boil spices and crab disassembly.

A big thank you to everyone who came out to the tournament. You all made it what it was and I had a blast! Looking forward to next years' event.

Pics to come.

Dang, Jammer's 2 for 2 on the NWKA 2010 series.  Will he win the triple crown with the salmon tournament coming up?

Congratulations to everyone who attended.  I wish I could have made it, but I enjoyed a windy weekend camping at Beverly Beach with the family.

It was my first time ever using a crab trap, so uh yeah:

If you ever go crabbing, it is not a good idea to leave the crabs in the trap to keep them fresh.  DAMHIK.

Jammer earned this one, he was checking rings constantly.  He really really worked for it.

Looks like my camera crapped out on me. A lot of pics that were totally jacked. :'( Did have 2 that came out clean though. First has lots of people in it. really they're out there! The second was the birds. They were everywhere crashing bait. There was a ton of baitfish out there.
