If the weather is clear (no rain), I think we should have the food and ceremony at the pavilion by fire pit IMO.

Is it going to rain? ..... I hate rain

You live in the PNW.  Pansy  ;D

I'm planning to be there, assuming I can carpool with someone.  Gas is going to be too expensive otherwise.
Andrew if you can get away on the Wednesday before, we should have our trailer done and you can head up with us.

I'll bring my canopy for the weigh in.  12x12.  You know, so fungunnin has a place to hide from the rain.

Marie is probably doing the weigh in again, but if the conditions are really tame, she plans to get blood on her revo instead.

PERFECT!
Rain makes me cry ... but unicorns make me smile ....

And They're super delicious!!

McDonald's burgers are made from unicorn meat.  They cure hangovers instantly.

Something fishy about that can of unicorn meat. It says "product of Ireland."

Everybody knows the leprechauns hunted the native unicorn population in Ireland to extinction like a hundred years ago. Even unicorn reserves and sanctuaries couldn't save them. Now the leprechauns all suffer from sparkle deficiency. Sad. 💔

Dino - That would awesome!  But the Wednesday before (even if late that afternoon/evening) might be tough to pull off.  I only get 2 weeks annual vacation, and 1 of those has already been blocked off for elk season.  I had figured on heading out that Thursday afternoon so as to be able to pre-fish the area on Friday.  I was hoping fishnut and Rory (or anyone else up this way) would be on a similar schedule.

I'm thinking of coming down Wed night after work.  I want a couple days to chill before the big day,  Can probably grab a primo-tent spot as well.

I am also happy to help prep or cook or pretty much whatever may be needed at the time.

1 Elk > Several limits of fish

Assuming I actually get one.  I haven't shot an elk since 2007, and that was on an anterless tag in Arizona (Unit 9 for those that know the state).  2008 I hunted the St Helens Tree Farm with my FIL.  Didn't see squat.  2009 I got snowed out of my hunt in a wilderness area by Mt Rainier (opening day was a blizzard, by the next morning there was 3' of snow - 2 days before opening the ground was totally bare).  2010 was back with my FIL by St Helens.  Actually saw 5 elk that time, but nothing legal.  2011 hunting season was sacrificed to the birth of my third kid (second boy).  This year the plan is to go back to where I got snowed out in '09 and hope for better weather (turns out for the 2011 season I looked it up - clear and sunny in that area with temps from 18-53F for the whole elk season).  Between my buddy and I we should have a good chance of getting at least 1 legal bull out there.

Just checked my calendar and I had already planned on being in Lincoln City the weekend before as well as Monday and Tuesday.  Might just go from their to the campsite Tuesday night and make it a long camping week :)

I'm hoping i can make it this time. Just started new Cabelas job and have broached the issue with my manager on the 1st day of orientation(Ballsy ???). He thought it could be worked out but I won't know for awhile. Also have an ailing wife at home so some depends on that too. Game plan would be to leave here either Wed nite or Thurs AM and come back Sunday(flexible). Just to early to tell. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Pm me or call in a few weeks and I may be more firmed up. Too much going on right now. :-\

Tell them to get Cabela's to be a sponsor and you will represent them.

Or, tell them we will boycott Cabela's unless you can go. :D
