Hello all! Nothing is technically official yet but have you noticed the impressive catches and stiff competition in AOTY in 2023!? Congratulations to all that participated and contributed to the competition this last year! A big congratulations to Nobaddays for an impressive 204.72 average! If you have ever fished with this guy, you know he fishes really hard and is one of the most kind, informative fisherman on the water. It’s not a surprise to see that he did so well. This competition is the coolest competition because even though it is a competition, it’s actually just like minded people helping each other and learning. Thank you to all that keep this thing a float

Congrats to the competitors.  Scoring above 2000 requires a ton of commitment and travel.  Still hoping to compete one of these years.

I gave it my best go in Nov/Dec and Nobaddays slapped me with a 36" Lake Trout.  He was awesome this year with big and quality fish.

I might have some little fish ready to get 2024 started though.

Congratulations to all the competitors this year! James......Just WOW!!

The scores will become official here in a couple days and we will post the results.

In reviewing my year and scores I think we should make a category for fish between 150 and 175 points. I am really good at that size of fish. Just kidding. Well, sort of....

Congratulations, all! I kind of flamed out by the end of summer as usual but it's always fun to watch the competition go on until the bitter end.

It doesn't look like any last minute updates.  Congratulations to Nobaddays, kemfish and SD2OR for going 1,2,3.  Thanks everyone who supported HOW by participating.

Congratulations to James et al!  You guys put in a lot of effort and we all appreciate getting to tag along via the AOTY board.

Thanks Spot!
It was definitely fun.
Kemfish is getting to be a regular Clayman. So many days, I was fishing right next to him, same lure, same technique, and he almost always showed me up.

NoBadDays is just freaking next level.

I probably won't be competing this year. Was spending too much on gas, and the wife would be happier if I were around more.

My goals for this year, are to finally get a sizeable striper, get my first ever laker (something like 8 or 10 trips to Crescent/Odell this year, and not one fish), and to get towed by some dinos.

I'll be in Alaska when BCS takes place, but hope to make it to SBAOTD and ORC, at least.

Wishing everyone tight lines in 2024!
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

Congrats to all participants and to James for a great year. You guys got some monster fish last year and can't wait to see what 2024 brings. Hoping to fish with some AOTY anglers this year.

Thanks everyone for the support and kind words.

I can’t lie, 2023 was a really good year for me.  Comparing it to the previous year, in 2022, I had one PB all year and it wasn’t even good enough to make my top ten.  I basically just got a lot of nice average fish all year.  In 2023, I had ten PB fish, of which nine made my top ten.

I am very thankful to all my friends that I have fished with on this forum.  It helps even more when my closer circle of friends are also some of the top fisherman in AOTY.  I have learned so much fishing around them.

Kemfish and SD2OR, you guys put an incredible amount of time on the water and bring in so many great fish.  I knew that once I got rolling, I better not let up or you would shoot right past me.  If I counted correct, Kemfish submitted 58 fish in 2023.  Pretty amazing.

Looking forward to seeing what 2024 brings.  Hope to see you on the water.

Being retired, they pay me when I go fishing, therefore I am kind of a professional fisherman.
