I forgot to ask but how deep was it where it escaped?  Near shore, less then 20ish ft? Could you find the spot you lost it again?  I do a bunch of free-diving in the Willamette every summer.  If its a place you think we could get it back let me know.

"Somewhere" in the middle of the river in 35ft.. no chance

20 yards off the bank, in line with the big rock and the tall tree, in 15ft of water ... possible (or at least worth a try)

bummer..that sucks.I've lost a few thoings in my time, some of them recently and harshly.

On another note,my playsport survived an underwater rapid trip and a ten minute soak...don't ask!(story coming)

Oh, please tell me the video camera was on to document the occasion.

It wasn't on...I preoccupied flailing..

Thanks for the offer.  However, it was dropped in about 80 feet and it sank kind of slow, but fast enough where I didn't think it was worth diving in after it with all the wake board boats zipping around.  I figure from where I dropped it to where it ended up on the bottom could be quite some distance. However, I know where I lost a nice crankbait in about 8-10 feet of water not far from a big boulder on shore.  I may bring out the mask on the next warm day I am out there.

Diving for what? Infectious diseases?
All your fish and game consumption must have your immune system hitting on all cylinders bro!
