This is a short video demonstrating a device that I thunk up to load my kayak. Questions are always welcome. I thin you could easily replicate this with 2 barn door hinges and 2x4 lumber.

Nice!

Great video, and pretty cool ramp. I like your idea of the electric winch. I'm considering a Thule rack for my Tacoma with a bed-mounted electric winch.
Anyone here use an electric winch to load their kayak, either into the bed, or up on a rack, or onto a trailer?

nice load/unload method. It's all about making boating easy and fun. If it is a pain in the ass to go out, people tend not to go. Plus, lifting boats, particularly heavy boats isn't easy or a good idea if wanting to avoid back injuries. Seems like the same method could be adapted to roof loading.

Someone mentioned that they converted an old windshield wiper motor to winch their Kayak seems like an excellent idea if you have access to an old parts car.

Also thanks for the kind words everyone.

I use an electric winch to load my outback up onto my full size GMC van.

That is a great setup for moving a fully kitted kayak into/out of the bed of the truck.
Your back will thank you in years to come.

I have a Badlands ATV winch from Harbor Freight that I mount inside the bed by the cab. It came with a bluetooth remote. I bought a 12v lawnmower battery that I rigged into a Harbor Freight ammo box with a SAE quick connector to power the winch. Some sort of slide or rail like you have could help too. Nice setup.
