After almost 2 years of tryiusing finally did it! On Tuesday i was able to make it out to the mouth of the klick for a short half hr single pass with no luck. But upon launching did run into a local fellow loading up his pb.after a short visit about fishing and his catch I asked what he was using.he showed me the Spinner he and his crew was using.he then gave it to me.guess I should have threw it on.

Now for the I should have listened yesterday moment. Wednesday I got off work earlier so I had longer to fish. Just before launching I threw that prawn spinner on behind a florescent orange/moon jelly fish flash on a 12" dropper with 6oz ball.on the first pass I had a strike and had to re-rig a new prawn.continued down and back for a 2nd pass.almost ¾ of the way threw the 2nd pass I thought I was bumping bottom in 9fow, looked at the line counter and new it couldn't be so.then after about 6ft more slam! Rod was pulsing and going under water and my heart was pounding.I grabbed the rod and gave a hard tug.I was expecting more runs but after about 20 sec of battle the 26 ½ " coho was in the net head first.then it realized what was going on and went ape $+!# but a little to late.hatchery hen plump with eggs.I made a few more passes with another strike and stripped prawn but that's it but I couldn't be happier.first salmon from kayak bank or boat for me.

Special thanks to the fellow I met on shore.if not for you I would still be fishing for my first.

Nice, dude! You are covering the species way too fast.  ;D  I appreciate the details on your setup - everything helps. Going to head out for more?

Any follow-up pictures of the ensuing meal?

Congrats.  It's been a while since I've caught a Salmon as well.  Hopefully I'll fix that on Saturday.

Nice going cowboy.  Kayak fishing can be addictive, but salmon fishing will own you.  Don't stop!

Very nice! Caution that the smile you're experiencing is hard to duplicate, but definitely worth trying.
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

  Cowboy
You have 300 + posts. You're doing fine here.

By the way, Your 1st salmon is always the hardest It only gets better from now on.

Way to go to get that 1st one.

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent
