How was the turn out?  Any good fishing?  Looked to be a good day to be on the water.

We had 7 guests total, 6 volunteers I believe. Lots of little fish and one guy pulled in a nice sized bass not sure if anyone got a photo of it he C&R'ed it.

We were ready for a bigger party, but we had a few morning-of cancelations on both the Veteran participants and the volunteer side of things. The weather yesterday was damn glorious. After the event my heart wanted to stay and continue to soak it in, but there was clean up to do.

Thanks to all the volunteers for your time and effort. I am so stoked about this new northern Oregon coast chapter. Eventually it will double the opportunities for the population we serve to get out on the water, and that's the name of the game.  We can't help the folks we can't reach, and this will extend the reach of HOW in the Pacific Northwest!

I hope that everyone on the board here that is in their neighborhood will show them the same awesome level of support that you all have graciously  given to the Portland Chapter over the last 4 years.

Also the turkey on the Orion Cooker they donated to us was the bizzzomb! I'm on their Facebook page and it's kind of amusing that the pro cooks on there get a little miffed because the Orions make it so fast/easy/delish that anybody with a fraction of their skills and knowledge can crank out consistently perfect food.

Regards,
Anthony

Pretty good turn out for volunteers and heros.  Sounds like some good fishing too.
That Orion cooker looks interesting.  The cooking times are phenomenal compared to a traditional smoker.  Hmmm...
