Awesome! Would be happy to go out with you and share some knowledge. Let me know if you're approved for some time off, we could plan an early morning rendezvous or an evening trip after 5 pm. Feel free to PM me.

Take care

Bothell/Mill Creek. Looking to start my fishing hobby on Lake Washington before heading out into salt water. I'm pretty inexperienced when it comes to fishing so if anyone wants to do some mentoring I'm in.

Hello!  Am new to kayaks but am comfortable around water, fishing, diving and racing.  My first job was at an east coast marina.

Have finally rigged a Jackson Big Tuna to my liking and need to stick to lakes until I'm comfortable on the boat and have it all sorted.  But it won't take too many trips until the exploration bug bites.

The boat's only been wet once on a windy day, so no fish tales to tell yet.  Learning to find the fish is the next big challenge...

2015 Jackson Big Tuna (tandem) (dark forest)
2016 Hobie Outback LE (screamin' orange)
2014 KC Kayaks K12 (the better half's, in camo)
2015 Jackson Kraken 13.5 (bluefin)

Welcome to the club,

Every season I start out at local lakes just to get familiar with my yak again.  I then go out to PS where there is the challanges of the tides, currents, wind, waves, ferry/boats, sea lions, but that also comes with all kinds of salmon, bottom fish, crabs, fish derby, and other kayakers. Be safe and will see you out there.  Read up here and get lots of ideas, pointers, and safety tips.

Is there any interest in say a Thursday evening meet-up in Juanuary at a local brewery?

Seapine just south of the Stadiums?  I'm open to other places as well...

Because of the recent replies on this thread I thought I'd mention I'm in Bellevue, just across Lake Washington from Seattle.

I am in Bothell area. Just install a trolling motor on my predator 13. I know i am not that old but not that strong either, has a hard time paddling back to dock against strong current in Shilhole bay last year. Working on a leading gear design similar to Boomer landing gear, not because of price. I like to work on something like this in stead pay for it, make you feel good when you are done with the project.

 I'm in Kent.

Well, this thread has been around for a long time,  There's been mention of this for a while, and it seems like we just need a first date to get started.  I'm going to head to the Northwest Brewery net Tuesday (5-23-17)at 7 PM.  Not bringing the boat but just having a beer or two and happy to chat.  Might bring the owners manual for a Lowrance Mark-4 HDI & Elite-4 HDI.
If anyone would like to come, it's at:
Northwest Brewery
1091 Valentine Ave SE,
Pacific, WA 98047

Maybe another month further north, I just like Hoppy Bitch IPA as a place to start.

Just checking in to see if anyone in the south-of-Seattle area is interested in a informal meetup at Northwest the evening of Tuesday 23rd toward 7ish?
If there aren't any takers, maybe move it up to Seapine Brewery just south of the stadiums at the same time?  Seapine 2959 Utah Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134

No affiliation with either breweries, just like their products.
