Ok.  Back from Juneau. Between the marginal weather and the king closure, I'm thinking about heading to Seward. Going to try tolling for sockeyes for a few minutes with bare hooks behind a flasher. Then try my luck with bottom fish of any kind. Maybe I can get lucky and hit a large arrow tooth to flounder points. I'll check weather in the morning then head out.  I'll probably try the prison side if I looks doable. Otherwise Mille landing and try my luck near Tonsina cr.

Look for us, fishing Tonsina to Callisto today. Gorgeous day -- gonna need sunscreen.

Nice Akfishergal.  Of course the weather (wave) is nicer in cook inlet than Seward. I'll probably get a late start but good luck and be safe!

How did it go? I'm pretty jealous. I should have gone.

I wish you had too. Friday night was the prettiest I've seen Resurrection Bay -- calm like a lake, no wind and negligible wave. Saturday morning was windier but still sunny. Picked up a couple of cod between Callisto and Tonsina. Met another of our NWKA fellows on the water off Tonsina -- he'd gotten a chicken, his first halibut. Never saw Kardinal, so he must have been on the opposite side.

Hey.  I stopped by. I think I saw you car. I wasn't feeling all that great so I just drove back. I did hit the other side Sunday. A few cod and a few flounder. Cod looked nice and clean so fish & chips!!

I'm seriously bumming about the king closures but Best to conserve the stocks. I guess I'll have to try it in July or hit the feeders hard in October.

This year is definitely not starting as well as last year but a lot of the summer left!

Lots and lots of summer left most definitely. We'll chase the kings yet -- but for someone like me so new to saltwater, it's all exciting. I'm always eager to see what I haul up from below. Did you launch from Fourth of July on Sunday? I've fished from there to the river mouth, but not yet from there toward the mouth of the bay. So much to explore.
