We were hoping this might happen, and have been waiting to see if Lincoln County would enter Phase 2 reopening and that maybe we could gather as a group of almost 100 people.

However, Lincoln County hasn't applied for Phase 2 yet and given that they just reported 124 cases of Covid 19 in Newport today, I'm guessing that isn't going to happen.

So, from what I've been able to find(or unable to find, as has been the case, so far) the 2020 ORC is a 'no go'. Is this correct?? Any actual info would be great.👍

Why not forget Depoe Bay. and have it at another venue.  Sunset bay is open!

Yes. It will be a no go.  Sadly, the event is cancelled this year.  Lincoln County has not moved to phase 2 reopening, and there is a spike in cases there right now so it is unlikely they will open in time.

Logistically, that would be difficult to do with short notice.

Would be nice to informally meet up as a quasi-group sometime this summer for some ocean fishing even if we can't have the ORC...I think we could do that while keeping in line with health guidelines, albeit with smaller numbers.  We'll have to keep an eye on how things go.  I have a feeling this virus will be with us for quite a while, so we'll have to start learning how to live with it and adapt to new developments daily/weekly/monthly.

That is a true bummer! I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!

There are other Kayak Tourney's in August.  Also, that is the during B10 and other fall salmon fisheries. A lot of folks use Salmon fishing as their crack substitute.  I know I do. ;)

Might check Facebook but Sunset Bay is a no go too. State Parks said no groups over 50 people for here along the coast. Since at this time we still have the group camping at Bastendorff County Park, will go ahead and camp and have a loose impromptu fishing(hopefully). But no potluck or awards ceremony(because of the social distancing  rule and most of the sponsors are shut or will be just opening back up and after this hard time they went through just can't give right now)

I still plan on going to Sunset for camping and fishing too.  I am trying to talk my wife into joining me but with no cabins available I don't know how successful I will be.  She's not really the 'tenting' type.

At one point Sunset Bay AOTD was set for Aug. 22.  Is that the date for a proposed informal meetup? I'd go.
