I am going to come, probably mid-AM by the time I arrive and set up - looks like I'll fish the low mid-day tide!  Leave a few for me.

Ron and I are here. Looks like water  is starting to lay down.   Hoping to fish tomorrow. Is tournament still on or has it been postponed for another day?  Only 3 of us here now?

After two days "On the Beach" I gave up at 9PM. I know that my sacrificial leaving will insure a good day with a calm sea and a wind that always is just kissing the kayaks. I got home at 2AM. saltykayAK was a trooper fighting the surf and kelp globs and was rewarded with some Greenlings. I hope you have a great day and I will see you the next time around.

Ripndrag-approx what time are you wanting to weigh in? I'm just wondering if I should plan on fishing this evening as well

Mak do you have your own net you made or did u buy for working the conga? Very nice catch!

I would say my dip net is custom.  I bought the fiberglass dipnet from sams and made it beefier by using aluminum poles from b&j.  A lot of people just attach water bottle for floatation to the net and drift with it.

Had fun breaking my Barbie rod.... Poor gal, she was a little loose, and all the tools I had couldn't fix her on the water, so after the first fish was lost I never had more than 8 to 10 oz of drag.   Couldn't pull up a 8 oz cannonball sinker, so the strikes after that I had hellluva time getting hooks to set.

Teach me to take out loose women.

Should have had my avengers pole in the boat, not the truck!

Glad to meet those of you I hadn't yet, and some of you for the second (third?) time!

I had a great time!  Although I could not even buy a bite.   After watching a few swing and misses and hearing about others I guess we will have to figure out a way to be able to set the hook solid1

Fished for about an hour on the evening tide and pulled up this little guy. Watched ripndrag bust his Barbie rod on what looked like a really nice fish. Definitely better fishing on the incoming tide. Rudy-is this usually the case?

I like fishing the low tide but I do catch more once the tide has turned and is coming in.  I'd fish the incoming more if I could get further south.

Ok.  Here's the video for Sunday.  Missed a couple of fish when I had in photo mode.

On my first fish, Barbie fails me.  It doesn't reel in at all.  Handlining  even a ten pound halibut with spectra line was no fun.  Argh.  Frozen rod worked great though it was rusted out from a  few prior uses.

LOL - speaking of gumping the video shots... I got my camera start and stops confused.  Missed my video of the half-battle before the drag burned out and the fail while trying to fix the drag and hand line at the same time (Nice shots of your barbie fail K-84).  The LONG boring shot I got next would qualify for a couple seconds at best of highlights video - but I am definitely NOT putting up the video of me testing my relief zipper.  <ACK!>  Good thing I reviewed the tape before sharing that one.  Wouldn't want to shock you all into abject silence and the fish pics above are bigger in any case.

Nice shots - do we have a posted winner?  My score sheet looks like:  Fish:FAIL.  Barbie:FAIL  Video:FAIL   Good thing I had fun, would have loved to have camped the weekend or into Monday but priorities called.

Tight lines, all -

Ok guys I think Rudy is our winner. I had the fish hooked I needed to beat him but it broke my leader it drug me quite a ways and busted my ninja rod I had a blast I wish that I could have landed that fish it felt realy heavy I've caught a few over 100 from a boat and this one felt every bit as Good I was hand lining it and only got it up about 10 feet before it would run to the bottom it probably towed me 1/4 mile before it broke off I got a smaller fish And had a lot of fun
