I like to set up my NED rigs ahead of time so that they stay on the hook better and to save time on the water. I prefer the original Z-Man's "Finesse Shroomz" jig heads, usually in 1/6oz. My only problem with them is that the plastics don't stay on them very well, and if you're also using the Z-Man's original TRD NED rig plastics, well, they ain't cheap.

The simple solution is to use the tiniest bit of superglue, just like you would for lots of other soft plastics. If you do that that, the plastic will stay on forever and since it's so bulletproof to begin with, you can catch fish after fish on the same setup.

I put this video together to show how I do it and discuss my NED rig setup a little bit. Enjoy!

Tackle for two, that's my excuse!  ;D You can probably tell the orange crawfish is my favorite color but I like to keep a variety of colors ready to go. Usually Mrs. Redbeard and I will start on different colors and cycle through until we find what they're looking for. Some days it doesn't matter, some days one pattern gets 3x the bites.
