FYI I talked with Jake at Kayak Shed and he let me know they're having some issues with the Promo codes on the new website, he had me call him and place the order over the phone and I he applied the discount then. If you're wanting to place an order just call in.

How close is Kayakshed to Portland. I'll be down there in October for the Portland Marathon. Thinking about upgrading one of my 2014 revolutions to an Outback 2016 or 2017 just for the better seat. Don't care about the new reverse mirage drive, so it will probably be a 2016. Might as well do it while in Oregon.

Kayak Shed is about an hour from Portland. Ping Langcod about the code, I think they've done some websites updates. Or just call him on Monday and he can hook you up.

I will do that, I do see the code is not for Kayaks though. If they match or beat where I bought in Bellevue a couple years ago along with the tax savings I'll buy there.

I think the base price of 2017 models is several hundred more than 2014 models were, so keep that in mind.

Yeah, this was on my mind in the "where to buy a Hobie" discussion, and talk of the "deals" where you get a discount on accessories if you buy a boat during the "sales event". Kayak Shed has this in place 365, and you don't have to buy a boat to get it.

Exactly what I've found while pondering where to buy a new Outback this month. A 15% credit wouldn't be much of an incentive when we can get the Kayak Shed discount 365.
as far as I know, the 'fishon' 15% off is not on kayaks but can apply to Hobie accessories. For example, I ordered a sailing rudder for my i11s and the 15% off worked...roger

Yes, I realize that. What I was trying to say is that if company X offered me 15% off (or a 15% credit) Hobie accessories if I bought a new Outback (at full price) it wouldn't be an incentive at all because I can already get the same deal from Kayak Shed whether or not I purchase a new kayak. All else being equal, I probably would buy from Kayak Shed.

yep, I think that's the correct way to compare the purchase options.
