Stryker doesnt have mappping so if that is important I would strike that one.

The Humminbird looks like one of the better deals there, but it would appear to only come with the base map.

The Echomap looks like it comes with the detailed lake maps.  It has a CV transducer which is technically inferior to their GT transducers, but if you dont use downscanning much, then it may not matter to you.  I would suggest googleing CV vs GT garmin transducers to get the scoop.

You won't get a better deal than what BPS wants for that ECHOMap.  Get it, warranty the questionable transducer, and sail away.
I expected the worst, but it was worse than I expected...

The echomap would have been higher on my list if it wasn't a touch screen.  I've heard of issues with wet hands and touchscreens but I guess a towel is cheap enough  ;)

Ouch!  >:(

Look here: https://www.thegpsstore.com/Garmin-ECHOMAP-Plus-74sv-with-BlueChart-G3-and-Transducer-P5885.aspx

It's $100 more than the BPS price, but it comes with the GT transducer.  I purchased my Humminbird Helix from these folks without glitches or problems.

I looked on that site too and $599 was hard to swallow when BPS had it for $100 less.  I also had $100 of BPS gift cards to use so another reason to purchase it from there.
But alas, it was not to be so I ended up getting the Hummingbird Helix 7 SI on sale for $400 and $100 off with gift cards so $300 for a 7 inch FF/Chartplotter with side imaging.  Cant complain.  Thank you Tinker and Shin for your inputs.  I appreciate it.

Now, has anyone mounted a Hummingbird transducer to the Hobie Guardian system... next stop, YouTube!

Just when you thought the story was over...

I finally got all the connectors that I needed to connect up my new Hummingbird Helix 7 to the Nocqua battery (yes, they came with the Nocqua battery but somehow I miss placed them).  Got it all connected up and hit the power... NOTHING!   ???  Screen never even flickered.  OK, get out the meter.  12V from the Nocqua... Check!  12V at the cable end going to the fishfinder...Check!   Go in the house and call BPS... They are out of stock for this fishfinder and they are on clearance which means they wont be getting any more in.  So it looks like my search continues.  I am going to go to Cabela's and see what they have in stock and exchange this.  I just looked online and they have the Garmin Striker Plus 7SV or the Hummingbird Helix 5 SI.  I need to see if the mount I got for the Helix 7 will work for the Garmin, if not I may just stay with a Hummingbird (5in screen for $100 more  :()

Not Humminbird directly?  New items on sale or being cleared-out still have a warranty, don't they?

in store return

I drove over to Cabela's and tried to exchange it for the Garmin Striker 7sv (just can't bring myself to buy the 5 in Hummingbird model) but they only had the display model.  I did a return and got my money back.  The nice thing is they gave me the full amount back on my credit card, even the $100 from the gift cards  :banjo:, so now I can go anywhere and get my fishfinder.  Now I am just waiting for the money to show up on my card...

I had Garmin, it was nice, but my Simrad XSE 5inch  is Much better!!  Down and side vision, nice screen capture to micro-SD card for sharing with my buddies.
