Kokabow Fishing Tackle is a leading manufacturer of kokanee and trout fishing gear and we are stoked to have their products at the Brownlee Crappie Shootout 9.

This company is based in Meridian, Idaho and specializes in kokanee flashers and lures but can also be used to attract many other species including trout, crappie, perch, bass, and all types of salmon.

Owner/Creator Alan Greenhalgh has been fishing for many years decided to start Kokabow Tackle in 2012. The popularity of his gear is steadily growing due to his attention to detail and quality components. He is constantly coming up with new styles and combinations to help anglers fill their limits.

"Kokabow Tackle does not use plastic beads in the manufacturing of our spinners and trolls. Hand blown glass beads with a reflective coating are used to ensure transferring of light, durability and color vibrancy to the spinners and trolls."

Check them out online at https://kokabowtackle.com/

The donation is for 6 of Kokabows most productive Tail Feather blades along with 18 matching spinners in 3 styles. Beads, Bugs, and Squids.

If any of you have any questions about Kokatat gear or how to target Kokanee in general you are in luck. Mark Patrick is a Kokabow Pro Staffer that has won multiple Kokanee fishing tournament using Kokabow gear and he will be attending the Brownlee Crappie Shootout.

Thank you to Alan and Mark for securing this great local donation.

Bink's Pro Series Spoons sent a fantastic donation to the Brownlee Crappie Shootout 9.

Kevin sent an assortment of sizes of their super popular white-chartreuse back color pattern.

These spoons are very popular in the East and Mid West and are starting to gain a following here in the PNW with the increasing popularity of fishing for warm water species. As opportunities to chase salmon shrinks, the door to these often overlooked species opens and this is a great lure to target many different species with the same lure.

I have these spoons being used to target Walleye and Crappie. I even messed around with the smaller size and caught some jumbo perch last Fall. The spoon has been a very popular lure for a long time due to it's appeal to many fish and the ease of use. You can fish them vertically or cast and retrieve to cover more water and change the action.

Bink's Spoons are top of the line spoons that are well made with quality components and paint. I will be taking some to the Ocean to target flounder and rockfish.

Check out these sweet spoons at https://binkspoons.com/

The donation consists of 6 each of their spoons in 1/8, 3/8, and 1/2 ounce sizes.

Thank you Bink's Pro Series Spoons for the great donation.

P-Line is back as a Brownlee Crappie Shootout sponsor for 2024.

I have been using P-Line products for many years now and can attest to the strength of their line.

Short story:

Last year I bought a leader roll of 12# test to use for jigging up flounder and rock fish up at Neah Bay. In the middle of sorting through flounders I caught a small 24 inch halibut. I released that fish and thought "Wow, that was fun".

On the next drop I got a hard thump that was followed by the unmistakable whoomp whoomp run of a descent halibut. I just laughed thought I would have some fun and see how long I could play the fish with no expectation of landing the it on 12# leader.

After about 15 minutes and sleigh ride to deeper water it slowed down and I started gaining line on the fish. Luckily I had a salmon net on board and managed to land the flattie. I could only smile at how ridiculous it was to actually be able to bring that fish up. I took some pictures and release the fish due to it being a closed day for halibut.

Heck this year I may try it with a Ned rig and 6# test lol.

Line is only a tiny fraction of the gear that P-Line produces. Fresh water or salt water. They make a staggering amount of lures, tools, and tackle that you can find at https://p-line.com/

Thomas sent the Shootout 10 (300 yard) spools of their Hi-Vis Fluorescent Green Fluorocarbon Coated CX 6 LB Test line.

Thank you P-Line for another great donation.

Please welcome Rogue Endeavor to the Brownlee Crappie Shootout prize table.

This company is veteran owned and operated located very locally in Portland. They mainly specialize in accessories for kayak fishing and diving. This includes mesh bags, collapsible buckets as well as gear and game retention products.

Of special interest to kayak anglers are their lanyards, gaffs, and Heavy Duty Fish Stringers. I know a lot of anglers that use these game stringers and have had some trouble finding them locally so here is your hook up.

I'm also looking at their T-Handle Gaff Hooks as a possible addition to my kayak. I like that they are small enough to stow easily and look like they would be perfect for controlling rock fish and lingcod. I have been looking for something like this since losing my little gaff to a cabby so this really caught my eye.

Check out this great local company online at https://www.rogueendeavor.com/

The donation is for:

 - (1) 3 Pack Bait Towels with Belt Loop

-  (1) Collapsible Bucket (3 Gallon)

- (1) Heavy Duty Fish Stringer

Thank you Andrew for the donation and support!

Next Adventure will be sending some gear over for the Brownlee Crappie Shootout 9.

They usually supply us with the drybag swag bags that we give away to the anglers so I believe this will be the case again this year.

The donation will be coming over with a NA representative that is competing in the BCS 9 so we will find out when he arrives at the park.

Next Adventure is the go to shop for kayaking gear in the Portland and surrounding area. They also carry everything you will need for camping, hiking, climbing, and all snow sports. This is truly a one stop shop for your Next Adventure!

Their physical store located down town is an adult candy store that will keep you looking for hours and their paddle sports shop will give you reasons to upgrade your kayak ride. They also have a comprehensive online site at
https://nextadventure.net/ for online purchases.

Thank you Next Adventure crew for the continued support!

Me, too. I have been kayak fishing for 12 years, and I am continuing this pastime for sure until one day I am fishing on my kayak but then all of a sudden I don't no longer move no more:-)
