All that money into it and he/she keeps the crappy seat.

I have the same seat and so far my butt seems fine even after 6 hours.  I like the back support.

There is nothing wrong with the original seat... that is until you sit in a GTS Expedition or Elite lol then you'll never got back it's like a lazyboy for your yak.  The expedition truly help define the term Caddyak for me.
It's never too late to start procrastinating.

Found this picture while browsing tonight.

Check out the twist on hatch within the rod pod cover.  I wonder if adding one of these to both ends of the pod, would stiffen it up a bit?

I got the same idea from a guy down in San Diego. I just modified it a little. I cut the string that keeps the lid attached to the hull, and drilled a hole on the other side and reattached it so I could put the beer bottle holder up front toward the bow. I then put a 5 inch twist off hatch with a clear lid AND a hatchbag underneath. I put my keys, wallet, cellphone and I used to put my camera in there. Between the beer holder and the lid, I bought black plastic 3/8" thick cutting board from Bed, Bath and Beyond, and trimmed it to fit. I then glued it with 3M 5200 and screwed it to the top of the Rod Pod.

Underneath, I glued some 2" thick 7"x12" block of foam I got as packing material for a airconditioner. I hollowed out some grooves for lures and flies. It will float the Rod Pod lid with the bag full. Only thing I lost was the use of the tackle tray that OK provides ( the foam gets in the way). I got a tray from In And Out Burger and it fits perfect in place for baitfishing.

I got some neoprene weatherstripping from the Pickup Cap store ($2 a foot) and hotglued it to the underside of the lid around the perimeter. I hooked up a bungee lid locking system like Howard Mc Kim, but I reattached the buckles and added a buckle at the front also. I can sit my 400 lb butt on the lid without flex, and it never leaks, even when hosing my T15 off afterward.

I can't take any photos right now since some "skum of the earth" thought my camera and cellphone would look better at his crack whores house.
