First off, my buddy had his salmon trolling rod, fall out of his truck today,  somewhere between the Guard Rail bay launch, and Pelican Brewing. He realized it pretty quickly, and back tracked within 15 mins, but someone else must have gotten to it first. Any info would be most appreciated.

Conditions couldn't have been much nicer, was a great day to be on the water.

Had planned to target salmon first and foremost,  but considering  my friend lost his rod, plans changed. Saw and caught blacks all over, and I got a new personal best at 20.5".
I must have caught at least 20 today, they were hitting everything, including bigger ling lures. Had many doubles, and even a couple triples, with some short lings in the line up.

Got 4-5  underlings a piece, and I also got a new PB greenling, at 16.5. At the end, I finally got a larger fish, a 23.25" cabby.

Heard reports of a white shark in the area, from several people. And my buddy is pretty sure he got a glimpse of it.

There was some sort of emergency on the beach, around noon. Police and ambulances, I hope it was nothing too serious.

I left my friend for about an hour, and trolled west from the rock, to about 150'  FOW. Got a super aggressive drive by, near the yellow can, early on, but that was it. Only heard of one salmon being caught, despite some nice scum lines out there.

A real nice fellow asked if I had a spare pair of pliers this morning. Unfortunately I did not, but commented that recently lost my lil gaff. The kind man said he had an extra, and gave it to me. I was in a hurry to get on the water,  and didn't really look at it, till later. It's a super nice telescoping job, with built in scale. I would love to return it to him, Pay him for it, or buy him a new pair of pliers, if I can track him down. I think he had a tan Hobie, and had a big beard.

All in all, pretty happy with the day!

A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?
