Been getting some weird looks on the water and members here have been asking about "what's up with that hairbrush on your yak"  I use a lot of yak hair and Congo hair and it gets tangled real easy. Some of my LMB and striped bass flies are up to 7" long(see 2nd photo bottom left and 3rd photo) and my lingcod flies go up to 10" (see 4th photo). After casting awhile and having been attack by fish they become a real rats nest so instead of changing the fly out I just brush the mess out and keep on going. I learned this trick from a friend who fishes for musky and pike long ago.

Makes sense now. I knew it couldnt be for you to use  ;) Probably makes a good bonker for small fish also.

How do you fish your lingcod flies? Like what equipment and at what depth?

I think it was Bi-Mart a couple of years ago.

I use a 9/10 wt. flyrod with 15 ft. of T-20 attach to a sinking running line. Leader is just straight 3 to 4 ft. of mono 12lb.-20lb. test. Depth wise, I've gone down as far as 90 ft.

Holy cow 90ft, do you still over head cast it or do you just let line out? Cause if you over head cast it that's gotta be difficult I would think

The overhand cast is not bad, you just strip all the line off and coil it  neatly in your lap and shoot a cast. If all goes well all of the line goes out without any tangles or getting hung up on something. The bad part is the waiting for the line to sink (talking about 4-5 min. with wind and current). Most of my fishing is between 60 ft. and 10 ft. It all really depends on where the fish are.
