Guess who is not going to see it if I can prevent it?  My wife!  I would hate for her to worry anymore than she already does.

DOZENS of us have fished that spot before. Regardless of whether or not he was looking (bad form for an operator anyways), that is a pretty blind corner, especially that close to the east bank. I suppose that is why most stick to the center or western edge of the river in that spot.

Michael, glad you came out of things relatively unscathed. A good friend of mine has a dock right there, I'll have to hook you up some time with which one it is, as she doesn't have a problem with us using it to chill out for awhile...

I love the concern and care given by members of this site to others. That is a large part of what keeps me coming back for more.It absolutely amazes me .
This incident should never have happened in my mind ..unfortunately it did.Thank the stars there were no injuries and no physical damage done.We can all imagine other outcomes that could have happened.I'm sure we collectively breathe a sigh of relief for Jammer. And at the same time hope it never happens again to anyone.
My point is ----a big thank-you to this community for expressing all your positive thoughts and well wishes for one of our own.The same thing could happen to any of us.This is a great site we all should be proud of....I am.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

I notice my hero The Famous Halibu77 used to wear a bikers rear view mirror on his hat, now I know why...

I've often thought the rear view mirror is a good idea. I bike sometimes, and I definitely use one then, but I've had a few instances where I wished I had it on the kayak. One morning, I was intently working dock pilings for bass. I heard the constant bass of a big motor idling along, when I turned around and there was one of those huge tour sleds not 30 feet behind me, just sitting there. Maybe the captain thought he was giving his group a chance for some fish porn - I don't look at all like Jammer, though - but it startled me that it got that close without me noticing it.

I would like to also thank everyone for your replies and concerns regarding the run in with the PB. It really does mean a lot knowing you guys give enough of a shit about your fellow Kayak Anglers to chim in with a response. Thanks again! Be safe!
Cheers

So glad you are okay, Jammer. That is one scary incident. Mad props on keeping a cool head and being on top of things with taking the picture in case of a hit and run.

Holy cow!  All I can say is you are a better man than I could ever be. No chance I could have stayed that calm. You know I know for examples motorcycles on roads are harder to see than cars. But c'mon. These guys are going to die soon when they hit a waterlogged tree.

Breathalyzer and drug test would have been in order for sure.

But number one, I am glad you are safe!!!!

Jammer, glad you are fine, the boat sustained no real damage and the guys that hit you seemed to handle this to your satisfaction.  Thanks for sharing this because as a newbie it really sends a powerful message about some defensive things I had not truly considered yet.  My learning curve has been shortened a little bit because of you sharing your experience.  I have a GoPro, and I'm going to make sure that is is running and that my head is on a swivel to try to keep myself from being the next power boat victim.  As an owner of a power boat, I'm never in a hurry and always looking around.  I don't ever want to be the guy being run over, or running over someone else.  I also admire your calm factor.  We all know someone who would have just gone apeshit ballistic over that situation.
Kayak fishing?  I have no clue, but I'm doing it.
