Kress is not much of a lake but they throw some big ass steelhead into it. I hooked a 32" 12# steelhead on a custom worm spinner the week before Christmas. Kind of shocking since I was using 8# trout tackle. Took 15 minutes to get it on the yak. Barely fit in my net and I use a big net. It was a fish of a lifetime. I have caught other steelhead there but nothing over 8 pounds. Took most of last year off from fishing but will be back in 2018. It is a good kayak lake but I have never seen any other kayak anglers out there. It's tough fishing as are all of the lakes in the winter because of the low water temperature and water clarity but Kress can be productive.
