I've enabled the Forum Calendar.  You can go to it by following the "Calendar" menu item at the top.  You can post events directly in it by clicking the "Post Event" button at the bottom of the Calendar.   You can also choose a "Post In" category ... adds a forum topic to the category you choose.  It currently defaults to "Events" but you can change it to "Hookups and Reports" if you wish.

You can also link existing posts to the calendar.  Well, at least I can, not sure if it's enabled for the rest of you.  Let me know if you see a button at the bottom of a thread that say "Link to Calendar".

Nice idea, but apparently it's not enabled, for us, yet. I'm assuming it should be down at the bottom with the [reply], [notify], [add poll], etc., buttons.

You mean the "Link to Calendar" is not enabled?  I was fearing that as I see it down in my admin menu.  That option is for existing posts that were not linked to the calendar.  I'll see if there is any way to change permissions for that.  However, you can still post NEW events in the calendar which will create a post in the category of  your choice.

Ahh ... you meant adding an event.  I just allowed that feature for registered members.  Let me know if you still can't do it.
