My wife and I are in Utah for a few days visiting family. I decided to bring a rod to see what kind of trouble I could get into. Apparently this area is known for its world famous fly fishing.
Unfortunately I left the fly rod at home but I did bring a trout rod. I spent a few hours yesterday walking the Provo River tossing spinners and caught/released some very nice browns. Aggressive as can be, bright and vibrant, and an overall healthy fishery. I really regret not bringing the fly rod.

I learned to fly fish on that river. Well that the Weber river and well known Green river below flaming gorge dam. I miss those Utah trout.

Awesome!

I fished those waters 3x's a week for the first 5 years of my marriage. I lived walking distance from where the river exits the canyon.

From the pic it looks like you're up Provo canyon a mile or so west of the dam.

Thanks for sharing - again, awesome pics.
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

Ive fished there too! Small world.  My oldest caught his first trout there at deer creek reservoir at the age of two.

Jammer, have you seen the fish on the green river just below the gorge dam?  Them fish are huge!  There must be some regs against fishing there.
