Sure.  2 ounce leadhead, motor oil worm.  Drop to bottom and jig it.  Catch fish.  Lather, rinse, repeat.

That's what the lead is for.

If you feel sand when the lead hits the bottom, you're not on structure.
If you feel a hard surface, your'e on structure.  Keep jigging.  Mr. Ling should be along soon.  ;D

Or you may be in crab/flounder territory.  I wish we could use two rods in the ocean just for the ability to hunt flounder.  Figure two rigups with bait slightly different than each other, dropped off either side of the yak for a drift may score some flatties.

Our you'd discover that your twice as hung up - knowing my luck, I'd snag on sand.

Anyone interested in splitting a site?

Looks like I will be splitting my spot with yakinitup. I'll be returning the favor as he picked up the tab for a spot last year.

No beach access at Depoe Bay.
They'd have to settle for Fogarty Creek to the north (beautiful stretch of beach) or Otter Rock to the South.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

The very north end of Beverly Beach (Otter Rock as spot said) is an awesome beach to hang out on.

Ok, noted.  How is the river fishing at the campground?
