A convenient feature of this forum is that you can attach pictures to a post without using a third party hosting service.  Disadvantages of this feature are that the pictures all get inserted at the end of the post, and you can't move the pictures and insert them between paragraphs of text.  On some other forums, when you click on "modify" you can see the URL of each of the pictures which you have inserted, and can move that URL to an appropriate place in your post.  Can that feature be added to this forum?

I agree that it would make fishing tales and advice more readable if we could position images within the text.
Everything will be all right in the end, so if it's not all right, then it's not yet the end.

+1.

I tried for awhile using a third party image hosting thingy and hated it.

This is an example of a post on a forum where you can insert pics into the text without using a third party...makes reports and how-tos way cooler IMO.

I love NCKA and NWKA, but think they would be even better with this kind of functionality....

Sincerely,

Jim

You can upload to your gallery (in a desktop browser: Main menu > Gallery > My Gallery) then link from there. It's not 100% straightforward but doable.

Captain R, could you explain how to insert a link to your gallery?  I tried to do that once, and had trouble making it work.

Sure, here's what I do. From a desktop browser:

1. Upload a picture to your gallery on NWKA (self-explanatory).
2. Go to the picture you want in your gallery and view it (self-explanatory).
3. Get the link to the image file. I use Chrome usually, so right click on the image > "Copy image address".
4. Go to the post where you want to insert the image.
5. Click the little image icon.
6. Paste into the space between the image tags.

7. That should be all. Preview to see what it looks like if you want, before you commit.
8. Rinse, repeat.
