Title: Anyone have a kayak shipped from online store?

Looking at pulling the trigger on an Old Town  Salty 120 pdl.

Never had anything like this shipped.

How has this worked out for people?

I think it was 2014. I ordered a Hobie Revo 13 from Kayak City. They shipped it on a big truck. Truck pulled up to my house, I helped the driver carry the kayak to my garage. No issues, but this was back in the pre-pandemic, no-supply-chain-issue days.

Several.  Never had any problems, but make sure you can open the wrappings and inspect it before signing the receipt.  Sometimes you need to specify that with the seller/shipper but I've never had a driver prevent me from doing it.

The ones I ordered came wrapped in cardboard then mummified in plastic stretch wrap.  Well padded and tightly packed.

I've used Kayak City and Austin Kayak (R.I.P.) and Appomattox River Company and a company in Montana whose name I forget.  They were all carefully packaged for shipping.

Yours should arrive as pristinely as all of mine.

i've had two delivered by a shipper with no issues. Happy camper.

I wound up ordering it from Eco Fishing Shop. They offered free shipping. Some places were over $500 for shipping.

I ordered 2 Old Town yaks from Eco Fishing and was very happy with their service. There were issues with them extending the delivery date (this was during early Covid) and offered a healthy discount for us because of the delay. The delay was with Old Town, not their shop. No problem at all with the shipping and packaging. I would use them again if I needed to.
