My buddy and I will be at PC tomorrow morning. We plan on little salmon and rock fish. I'll be in a Silver FJ cruiser :)

We are launching around 7:00 a.m. and I don't know how long we'll be able to hold out there because of the win but definitely try to examine we're just going to run a ball weight flasher and a hoochie wiggle hoochie and all of our regular gear for rockfish

I'll be there around 7. Silver Tacoma with a camo Outback. Plan is to drop a pot then hunt for rockfish, then maybe salmon.
Dory boats will be thick, remember your flags for visibility.

This note just went out to all the dorymen. Don't get any parking citations.

"Just a reminder that north of the north sign is for launching and loading, NOT for parking. All dory parking must be south of the north sign. This is being enforced."

Thanks Anthony,

Is the North Sign the one where most people park south of anyway, or is there another sign?  Looking at the webcam a few day ago, it looked like everyone was parking anywhere and it was a zoo.

I also understand we need to buy parking passes now if we are parking on the beach right?

Thanks for the heads up.

What a great and beautiful day at PC!

Pulled into the parking lot, and immediately had a guy run up to my window.
Turns out he had bought an extra parking pass, and gave it to me for free!

Super mellow launch and landing.

Started trolling right away, picked up a nice black near the rock. Got approx. 1/2 mile past the rock, and got into some hot action. I must have had at least a dozen coho bites that didn't stick.
They were jumping way out of the water, darting under the boat....

Reed got his limit pretty quick, and I got one. I tried for a lil more, then we decided to try for lings. I had an incredible bite early on, no doubt would have been my personal best. Fought it back n forth for a few minutes, it took some serious runs, then suddenly came unbuttoned.

Reed picked up a nice cab, then we decided to move North. Found some schools of blacks on the way, and I quickly got my limit. Had various other bottomfish bites, and one underling, and some more coho drive bys, before I finally got my second one.
Oh, and I caught my first ever starfish.

We both got our salmon on triangle flashers with Brad's cutplugs, in 20' or less of water. They seemed to be everywhere, even closer in than the rock.

To top the day off, I saw several whales, porpoises, and some sort of shark, on the surface, had about a 1' tall dorsal.

Would have loved to landed that ling, but it was a killer day regardless.

Thanks for everything Reed!
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

Fish finders didn't help a lot with finding the coho, but they were all around.
Look for 52-53 degree water, birds n bait. Keep it shallow, they're right on the surface.
Good luck!

Way to go SD2OR! Sounds like you had an absolutely spectacular day that'll be hard to forget.

I hope to get back on the water here again soon once I button down a few pesky cases.
