There's been a few sand dab swimbaits out there but so far have left a lot to be desired. While this one isn't perfect (no paddle tail) it looks pretty fishy. Pretty damn spendy @ $9 for 3.. :-\

those are pretty cool. If they had a paddle tail and the bottom was white, they would be awesome!!
See ya on the water..

That's a nice looking bait but at $9 bucks a pop :o ouch!

Bet you could pour your own for less than that (Like $8.50 ::) )

I think I will just smack a rubber lizard with a hammer, I can get a pack of those for $3

I tried searching for it again, but somewhere along my net travels I came across a forum where two fellers were making molds, melting down other soft baits and making their own dabs.  Maybe someone else will located it and post the link.   :-\

Would love to see some people's ingenuity. Let's see your creations!

I bought a couple of the above baits.
Have only dropped it a handful of times, with no bites, but I still have faith in the thing's potential.
Also check out Westin Flat Matt, pricey, but very good lookin!
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

I made a prototype in polymer clay, made an open mold and poured a few in a couple colors but have not tested them. I had a lot of the materials on hand so it didn't cost too much above what was already spent.

On a recent trip to the Westport jetty I got 2 decent lingcod in about 10 minutes using the 3" hogy flounder on a 2oz jig head. On a different trip I got a cabezon as well.

I did get a hog of a cabezon on a 6" hogy with 6 oz jighead, out of Depoe.
They just don't look as good to me as other baits, but then, it doesn't matter if I like em, it only matters whether or not the fish do!

I haven't fished all of these, and just breifly with the ones I have.

I painted the jig heads, added googly eyes, don't know if it helps, but figure it can't hurt.

Determined to get a big ling one of these days....
