Title: Westport jetties??

Headed out to westport tomorrow am.  I'll be throwing swimbaits ATthe jetty all day anyone interested ;D ;D  pm me.

Damn.  Too far for me to go this weekend, but hit me up next week, I'll be all over it and ready to get back in the saddle.

ok heading out at 0700.  I should be launching from the pub launch in westport around 0830.  Theres a guy that I know who will be taking out his PB so I wont be alone :'(  I'll  take pictures  :o (hopefully of a few ling)

You're ambitious, for being new to the area.  ;)

I'd probably pick a day without big tide changes, or shoot for one of the slack periods. If you're not careful with the ebb, next thing you know, you'll be out on the ocean. :o

OK so here it goes.. 
The first thing I should mention is that I caught nothing at all.....
I launched at the launch by the coast guard station.  Lots of current headed my way as I moved up to the breaker wall.  I tried drifting back over a few bumps but nothing took.  I saw a few rockfish in the upper columns and had one on for about 5 seconds but he only had the tail (he kept it too). There were allot of boats out setting crab pots...it was like an obsticle course out there.  About the time I realized I should have beach launched at halfmoon bay the coastguard helicopter dropped down to a hover for some sort of memorial day celebration they had going on down there.  If anyone has ever been there for memorial day weekend you know that they go all out!  They had flags all over the place, the FD had a huge flag hoisted up on their ladder , and they had a lady sing our national anthem (really well)for all the folks. 

Seeing all the families made me feel a little bad for not being home....so, I took the free ride back to the dock, bought a rocky road ice cream for the drive home and said see you later to my great American Morning.
