Title: New Bonafide SS127 Kayak
Post by: showa on January 26, 2018, 08:09:27 AM
Has anyone try out this new yak yet? the review shown on YouTube are good, but mostly by the people in the club. So I would like some new independent opinions.

John Jackson is starting a kayak shop called American Outdoors.  I believe they will be bringing in the Bonafide boats in the Puyallup area.  I know he has paddled it.  I'll have him reply to this thread.

Yea i've been curious how much speed, if any, they are giving up for that crazy stability.

Hi John,

How does it turns with just paddle without rudder? do you need a rudder or the tri-hull design will help it go straight? these are the questions that I have for now.

I got to try it and and I will say it paddles really well, turns quickly and in general lives up to the hype. I had no problem get it to turn quickly if you put a little edge into it.

Everything felt really well thought out and there are a lot of little details that impressed me.

One thing I have not spent enough time in the boat to understand is the seat. It has a lot of different positions, and it feels complicated to manipulate on the water. They make it look really easy to use, and I'm guessing you would get the hang of it really quickly after a full day.

We have them in stock at Next Adventure if you want to check them out, and should have our demos ready to hit the water soon.
We will definitely have a demo at our March 17th demo day at Scappoose, probably before that

Feel free to shoot me an email/PM if you have any questions

I'm interested in learning if there's a commonly-used phrase in the English language they aren't trying to claim as a trademark.  Sheesh.
