Hopefully, someone got out of Depot/Fogarty today! Wish I had been keeping an eye on it. Anyone ready to hit the ocean if we get some decent conditions?

I couldn't get my ducks in a line to go today. I think Clayman might have done Fogarty, probably got some nice lings...
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

Two other kayakers and I fished Fogarty today. Ocean was nice: mostly 3 foot swells with a set of 4 footers coming through every now and then. Water was an icy blue color. We started fishing at 80 feet, and never really moved from there because the fishing was great. The depthfinder was lit up with huge schools of rockfish consisting of blacks, blues, deacons, and yellowtail. The lingcod were chewing below the schools. Easy limits for everyone.

Don't get many ocean windows in December. Hope you guys can get in on the next one!

I knew you'd do good out there today, wish I could have made it.
That's the greenest ling I've ever seen!
Good job man!

never know when the next winter ocean window will open but they just delayed commercial crabbing until at least Dec.31, and that usually means the ocean and estuaries (which are open from Tahk creek north to WA border) should be loaded with large crab!
