We be emulating Jed with the belt buckle for first place. Ours is coming from Mollys custom silver in California. So the first place salmon winner will be taking home a custom buckle to proudly display there accomplishment. Thanks for the idea Jed , like your design btw.

Really like the design. Only thing I would change is remove the third annual. The large font draws attention to that first for me. Having the date and the rest as is would be better in my opinion.
Great idea for a prize though.

I agree with the "Third Annual" being pretty big... maybe something salmon related since it's a prize for salmon? Or maybe best to keep that out since there's a chance no one catches a salmon and it would go to another winner?

I think the winner should get to decide what to put on their belt buckle! Perhaps their name, the weight of the fish, their NWKA name, or "NWKA" or whatever! If there is no winner, then don't make the buckle.
i personally don't care for the Third Annual text, nor do I like the 2017 being separated by two digits.

Move "First Place" to the top of the buckle.
Also seems like there should be a furbag depicted somewhere.

Three is out of the question, it will go to the first place winner in salmon, if no salmon cooperates then it migrated to first place all other fish, if hell freezes over and no fish are caught then it will go to dinginess, if that don't happen then we blame the last election we had.

If you are only awarding one, calling it "first place" is kind of silly. How about "Champion" instead ?
