I’ve launched at -2ft but had to get out and walk the kayak to edge of the flat.

So tomorrows low will be around 5-6ft still doable?
Thanks

Late on this.
Artemis, Luhr Beach/ Nisqually Delta launch is a gigantic mud flat. SAFEST launches at a rising tide or high Slack.
Check the area maps at salmonuniversity.com for your best chances.

Late, but yeah. You can ride the kayak in and out around a 0 tide. I’ve done it hundreds of times.
WR obviously never stepped on the flat because then he’d know McAllister creek channel is compacted sand. I wouldn’t walk on it for funsies, but it if you have to it can be walked on just use caution.

I'm too heavy and awkward (moreso these days) to trust the streambed. Sorry, but I don't want to be the fat guy stuck in the channel people point at and 😃 laugh.
Been there about a dozen times over the years. Always surprised me that we could have the creek dropping through there, and less than half a mile away is (was before modding) the mighty, muddy, mouth of the river.

That area sucks when there's enough water to hide the creek but not enough water to paddle over the flat. Sucks even more when there's a lightning storm blowing over you at the same time.

Didn't go that day anyway)) will try to go this Sunday tides looks high from morning till noon, more than enough time to explore area

So i went this morning, was surprised by shooting) but guys on landing told me that its hunters)) didn't go far out since didn't charge my radio. So scouted around for some bait along piles. Found few flounders nothing big. More driving than fishing. Fish checker said mostly people getting fish now by fox island
