Ocean looking pretty fishable Saturday. Anyone else looking at making a trip out of Fogarty? Springers not cooperating yet :)
-
Seriously considering it, haven't hit the salt yet this year.
-
I'll fish it if the wind forecast isn't too squirrely.
-
Certainly looks promising, if it holds I'm in.
-
I'm planning on Sunset Bay launches- late morning on Friday (light afternoon wind forecast) and then an early launch Saturday (smooth ocean but stronger wind and swells coming up after noon...).
-
Yes on Fogarty if conditions hold.
-
Forecast says 2 ft swell building to 6 ft. Mmm....
-
Anyone considering Friday?
-
I have also been watching and was strongly considering Sunset bay for my first excursion to the salt. If I make it I hope to see you there Rogerdodger.

I am looking at surfline and don't see that building. Wind might be a PITA, but the swells look good. What is your source? I should be seeing that as well.

My source for building to 6 ft was the national data buoy center. But they have now removed the 6 ft part and it looks good.
-
Friday looks a little better.
-
Except for that pesky issue of not having people give you money if you don't show up :D
-
Oh, that...
-
I’m not loving the 3’ wind waves at 4 seconds and 20 mph gusts on the national weather service forecast but will be watching it throughout the week
-
Wind could blow the party off the water >:( >:(
-
I think Friday is looking doable. I'll keep checking, but I'm thinking Fogarty and a big ling might be happening
-
I would like to go on Saturday if conditions are good.
-
Wind is going to keep me in the valley chasing springers or just sleeping in. Wind not much better here so it will be a game day decision. Crap.
-
grrrrrr. I hate the wind. >:(
-
Got an east wind right now in Tillamook, so it should blow ya ON the water not off. Kinda breezy already, I wouldn’t want to be OTW right now.
-
I’m going out of Depoe tomorrow. Windfinder has the wind out of the north less than 10mph all day.
-
Did anyone make it out today? Plans for tomorrow?
My wife and I are up at one of our timeshare condos in Ocean Shores, WA. The ocean is beautiful and pretty small swell here. The winds however have been relentless. Blowing pretty hard 24/7.
No fish will be harmed in the making of my story.
Good luck everyone!

Fished OC yesterday until I could not stand fighting the wind anymore. Can't imagine the wind at the coast. Might try head of the channel Sunday am.
-
I'd have to say it was a good day....
-
Must of been good weather, lot of boats working the shallow areas between Depoe and Fogarty. I move farther out just to get some space.
Tons of medium sized rockfish of various types with a few good sized ones mixed in. Wanting small baits. Lots of 2-3" sandworm looking things in the water that I think they were feeding on. Even a good bit of surface action. Would've been a great opportunity to flyrod one up. Oh well. Fair number of linkcod around but most were barely legal or just under.
SD2OR had the monster of the day

SD2OR had the monster of the day
How big was it. Inquiring minds want to know. It looks good for sure
-
Guessing Clayman actually had best fish of the day.
Mine was 36", just a hair under 18#.

DAMN SD20R you getting gray old man!! 😝 welcome to the club!!!!Nice haul guys, can’t wait till I can get pops out to ox,….. double amputee can’t beach launch! He’s sooooo stoked! Keep at it guys!

I only had a few hours to fish yesterday morning before work, but I was stoked to enjoy the nice water for a bit. The early morning bite was scratchy, as it usually is with bottomfish. Things slowly picked up as the sun rose in the sky. Connected on a few lings, harvested 33 and 32 inchers. Sifted through blacks, blues, and deacons to harvest the tastiest-looking ones. Headed back to the beach by 1030.
Water temp high 40s, 15 ft of vis, bout a 1mph north current. The cold water likely depressed the rockfish bite, but I was expecting a better lingcod bite given the conditions. I fished 70-90 ft yesterday. It's possible the ling bite was better shallower or deeper than that, I just didn't have the time to investigate. Glad to see SD2OR and Kemfish found some good ones after I left, nice fish guys!

Anyone thinking of going out on Wednesday? I think that I will be able to be free then.
-
While the wind looks fair to good that 6 second swell period is going to make Depoe a washing machine.
