Well it is December 30. I have had plenty  of time off here lately and I have wanted desperately to go fishing. I have had a goal to put 10 species on the AOTY board and so far I am stuck at 9. Haven't added a species since probably August. I really wanted to make it to Crescent Lake and go for a big Lake Trout, but the snow has been accumulating rapidly and is probably several feet deep now. The coastal rains have flushed the bays with mud.
I have a lot of options for a 10th species. Any variety of trout would work. For salt I could use a kelp greenling, a flounder, or a perch.

So it comes down to this. Tomorrow I will be getting bundled up and going to Foster Reservoir in search of a rainbow trout. The weather will be crap, and the fishing will probably be similar, but I am going to give it a go.
Anyone want to join me for some cold, wet, probably unproductive fishing?
NO, weird, I thought for sure that would entice someone........

Anyway, wish me luck please.

Good luck Dan! FWIW, Yaquina Bay clarity isn't bad at all right now. Yesterday at bottom of the low, it was an easy 3-4 feet of vis.

Should still be some brooders in walling, waverly and Jct city ponds. Good luck wherever you end up going.

No, I failed. I went to Timber Linn and Junction City pond. I didn't get a bite, nor did I see anyone get a bite.

Pretty disappointed in myself and my lack of effort the last 5 months. I totally should have knocked Lauren down a spot.

Yeah you should have. I was easy pickin's!

Sorry man, it's tough fishing in December for those brooders. But 2022 is under way...

Hey, Capn! I was referred to you regarding an issue I'm having posting on the Classifieds forum. I have tried a couple of times with no luck and the last time I looked the last post there was 10/30/21. AM I missing something????

Hi Jeff, you might want to use the "My Messages" pm/dm feature (see the menu above) and reach out to me directly.

In the meantime, I did go look just now and there was a post made on December 31, 2021 by Fred. Do you see that post?

Additionally, I just made a test post to ensure that it was working, and it worked just fine.

If it's still not working for you, please let me know (preferably in a direct message):

How are you accessing the forum? I.e. by computer or phone? If phone, are you using Tapatalk, or a browser?

What type of phone or computer are you using? What type of browser (if applicable)?

Hopefully we can get it figured out!

Side-note: It's not unusual for NWKA to go through periods of relative quiet this time of year as folks are penned in by weather conditions, busy with holiday commitments, and focused on non-kayak winter fisheries.

Are the NWKA classifieds set up to only allow access after a set number of posts?  It's common on other sites.  Wondering if Jeff is under the threshold with 12 posts?

No, I don't think so. It was the post size limit. He was putting a lot of photos in one post and this is a known issue when the total size of the post is too large.
