Ballet Thursday night.  Even if you just get a few folks go for it.  When it's on it is a hoot - even weird in a good way.

Squid jigs have eyelets on the top AND bottom.  You can string jigs together with a couple feet of leader and fish 2 at a time.  You may also want to put a small light stick in between or under the jigs.  If you are using a single jig, casting far like a buzz bomb may be the way to go, but often with simple or more complex terminal gear, simply swinging your gear underhand off the pier will work just as well.  Hopefully the lights will draw the squiddies to you.

MA 12 closed for squid.  All other MAs: No min. size. Daily limit 5 qts. or 10 lbs., plus up to 5 HUMBOLDT SQUID. Legal gear is a forage fish jig, a maximum of 4 squid lures, forage fish dip net, or a hand dip net. Each harvester must have a separate container.

You're a lucky stiff with LOTS of good eats if you haul in a Humboldt!

On page 2, in case you missed it:
... just remember what demonic said about getting inked, pretty much will happen! :D  You can kind of figure them out though.  Once you get them up to the surface, don't pull them in too quickly.  Let them sit just off the surface for a sec and let them squirt once or twice, then bring 'em in.

Ok. I'm bringing my squidding gear to work today, so I hope this happens!

I'll check back in here for details later, but hope it comes together for 7 pm by the Victoria Clipper terminal tonight! (Thursday)

I discovered the NWKA site a week or two ago and have been wishing I had the set up to join some of the folks reporting on Hobuck trips lately.

This evening seems like it will be a good chance to meet some of you. I'll try and be there.

I'll dig in my gear for squidding stuff... sure I must have something from a few years back.
