Anyone go fishing for the halibut out of neah bay? If so any good advice for a guy wanting to go for the first time?
-
I was wondering when this thread was gonna start!
Don't go Thursday. 9 foot swells make for exciting surf launches.

Cardio. Lots of cardio.

Find someone to go with you...

Grab a trusty buddy, pick a launch location, and drag some bait around the bottom. :banjo:

This is a tight-lipped group ;-)
Halibut from the kayak is on my bucket list. I'm hoping to get lucky one day off the reef, but at some point I'll go on a dedicated halibut trip.
I've watched this video a few times to get notes on gear, primarily gear related to dispatching a big 'ole halibut without getting hurt or drowned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjXlB9VdSSc&list=LL&index=8&t=3s
Que tengas suerte.
