So I just got a PayPal transfer to add to the fund for Heroes On the Water North Oregon Coast Chapter.

If you've spent time hanging out with or fishing with upnorthtex, you know how well he can sidestep credit with a nod of his head and an easy quip of self deprecating humor.  So, it wasn't surprising to find out, in a follow up conversation with him, that he's also made accommodations in his will for both Dino's Northwest Washington chapter and Anthony's (Lingbanger) Portland chapter of Heroes On The Water.  Hopefully you boys will have to wait a while for your donations but know that there's "an old retired Infantry Ranger, Sergeant Major" who appreciates your efforts! 

Something that Art texted me after our last trip to buoy 10 goes a long way toward defining his inspiration/motivation: "Mark" he says, "it's hard to explain, but can a simple recreational thing like kayak fishing really bring together so many diverse folks and make lasting friendships, when nothing else really seems to be working?" 

I think we both knew it was a rhetorical question.
