From June 7-11 I floated the 69-mile Clarno-to-Cottonwood section of the John Day River.  I was paddling my 13' Revolution, and my sister was paddling my 13' Ocean Kayak Trident.  The river was running 12,000 cfs on the first day, when we ran Clarno Rapid.  My sister isn't a whitewater kayaker, so I ran both kayaks through Clarno and Basalt Rapids.  The high muddy water created lousy fishing, but we had a great trip and did a lot of hiking.  I posted pictures on my Facebook page, which is public (Peter Dayton).

I have set up both my Revolution and my Trident for thigh straps, which make the kayaks a lot easier to handle in rough water.
