Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Done! Here's the original request from H.O.W.:

H

Please spread across the country as you have done with Heroes on the Water!!!

Jeff --    Thanks for including HOW. We have a bunch of hardworking volunteers around the country putting troops in seats. This is a great way to inform the paddle sport world about the therapy of kayak fishing. We’ll spread the word and get folks over to your website to vote.

All  - This is an awesome way to get the story out to the paddling and outdoor industry as a whole. The award will be presented at the Outdoor Retailer show in Salt Lake City in August. Will showcase all of your hard work.

Here’s the link - http://www.canoekayak.com/canoe-kayak-awards/vote/    Please push to all forms, social media and email all your volunteers and supporters.

“Paddle with a Purpose” is the second box on the right. Then scroll down one to vote for HOW.

This will help your chapter grow and prosper!!

All the best,

Jim

Subject: HOW Nominated for 2012 Canoe & Kayak Awards

Hi Jim,

Here's a quick note to say that Heroes on the Water has officially been nominated for the inaugural Canoe & Kayak Awards in the category of "Paddle with Purpose." This award recognizes people and organizations that use the sport of paddling to help others.

We've worked hard to make sure the award nominations and voting stay true to the spirit of our sport. We reached out to about 30 paddling luminaries from across the spectrum: athletes and adventurers, hard-core canoeists, whitewater chargers and sea kayak expeditioners, filmmakers and writers. We asked them for names of this year's most inspiring organizations, and they gave us yours.

The next step is to put it to the people. Through the website CKAwards.com, paddlers from all over the world will be able to vote for you and the other nominees. The site has short bios, as well as links to coverage of the athletes, expeditions and organizations that are nominated.

The awards presentation is the first night of OR, at Pierpont Place—the same location where we have held our C&K party for the past few years. This year we're stepping up the music, food, and booze. John Grace and the Amongstit crew are cutting a highlight reel that will play throughout the show. John or Chelsea will likely be in touch soon about getting some footage for that project.

Please have a look at the site, and feel free to tell your friends, family and sponsors. We're using the #CKAwards hashtag to help spread the word.

If you have any questions, or just want to say hello, please get in touch.

Jeff

More:

All   --    Here is one piece recognizing the hard work y’all are doing.

Kody and I went to the Award Ceremony at Outdoor Retailer in Salt Lake City not knowing what to expect. We were awed by the depth and breadth of the industry leaders there. Manufactures, retailers, Young and old kayakers who are defining the industry, and legends of Paddlesports. Including this guy - http://www.canoekayak.com/canoe-kayak-awards/martin-litton/    95 years old. Pilot in WWII and stopped 3 dams from being built in the Grand Canyon. Very cool to see and listen to folks who are leaders in the industry.

Thank you for all of your hard work. You are making a difference and the industry and nation are recognizing that.
