What's wrong with this picture?  If you guessed "there's a stick in the paddle holder rather than a paddle," you guessed right.  When scrambling to head out for a day of fishing, I forgot to throw my paddle in my vehicle.  So I found a stick and used it to pole my kayak away from shore and back to shore.  It only took a couple of pushes.  But it's a good thing my Mirage Drive didn't choose today to fall apart.  The stick wouldn't have made a very good paddle.

Nice setup and nice lesson. When there's a hole in preparation, good to be able to mend with innovation. Thanks for sharing that.

Pete, did my first test paddle with the new revo today. I’ve ordered several gear track and extenders. Have some ram mounts from motorcycle days. It looks like two different tracks, maybe on is a Scotty and one a ram?   Might just be the light, but curious.  Frustrated to miss some salt time so I ordered plenty. Thanks.

Wrong and wrong!  Both tracks are YakAttack 1.75 gear tracks. Bombproof, but pretty expensive.  At the time they were the only gear tracks which could be attached with screws from the outside; now there are several other options.

That's a beautiful lake pmmpete, where is that flathead lake? Yeah isn't that always fun you quickly go though a checklist of stuff in your mind and are like 'yeah I definitely have everything' only to find that well, you don't lol. Last couple times it happened to me it was my seat (just delt with that one and found it's not really comfortable without it lol), or my boots for my waders. Those rails look like they're bomb proof, I'm still jealous of all you guys who have hobies lol I'll get one eventually but I still love my trident.

Yes, Flathead Lake in Big Arm looking west towards Melita Island and Elmo, although you can barely see the scenery in that picture.  A better picture of the same view with a friend holding up a lake trout in the foreground is shown below.

I have a particular way of packing my vehicle, which usually helps me avoid forgetting things.  But not always.  I have a gear list for multi-day whitewater kayaking trips which has helped me avoid that "Ooops, I forgot my __________" discovery when I'm out in the middle of nowhere.  To avoid more "senior moments" when kayak fishing, I should probably make a gear list for that sport as well.
