Title: Need some NW Wash Fishing Advice
Post by: IdahoSkies on April 26, 2022, 08:37:57 AM
I am going to be in Seattle the June 15-18 with some college pals and we have talked about chartering a fishing boat, I'm "the fishing guy" so I get to look into it.

We have one guy who had a bad experience (choppy water, motion sickness, no fish) the last time he went out that we are trying to deal with.

I have fished Oregon, and California but not Pudget Sound/ North West Washington. I tried working through the regs to identify what is open so I can explain the options to my group but I can't make heads or tails of the regs other than they are really technical.

Can anyone throw a guy a line and tell me what I should be looking at in mid June? (15-18?) We will be in Seattle but may also spend some time in the Olympic Peninsula so I think we are open to fishing either the sound or the ocean.

Thanks for any info.

Hey IdahoSkies I have some buddies up in that area and can put this up on my FB page to see what they say if you are okay with that. I can tag you if there are good answers. If it's all "in the water" answers I won't bother tagging you :D

Lingcod around the Seattle area, Lingcod/maybe halibut around Port Angeles, or Lingcod/rockfish/maybe halibut out at Yeah Bay/Sekiu.

I don't have much experience with guides, but know Justin Wong with Cut Plug charters out of Seattle does Lingcod.

Correction:  Lingcod closes June 15. Sorry.  Halibut maybe.
