Pete,

I know of at least three kayak anglers that fit that description.  One not as bad as the other two, but the those two would probably attract flies worse than a cow.

Can't stand the thought if fish slime/blood and yuk allowed to become part of my suit. Gross.

LOL I came here today to sing praises for Kokatat and saw this thread.  I bought my suit new spring of 2017. There was seeping in the socks and I had torn a wrist gasket. Thought it was time to send it in for repair while I deal with my hernia.  Their answer was:

“We found a warranty issue with the suit you sent in.  The suit has fabric separation occurring on the legs and crotch that is unrepairable, but your suit is in good enough condition to be replaced with a new one under warranty.”

Just got it in the mail today so I am happy!

For me, I just will not plunk down a grand for a suit that will not last very long.  I fish the salt  in the neighborhood of 40-50 days per year, and I will buy a reasonably priced suit that will get me at least 3-5 yrs. and replace it.

If you say that you fish in the saltwater 50 times a year and that you have owned your Kokatat drysuit for 3.5 years.... that means you have fished with that suit on for 175 times.... and if the suit costs $1000.... that comes out to $5.71 per use..... that seems like a reasonable cost per use of a product that is intended for safety.

What is a lifetime.

I really like my Kokatat.

That’s complete horse shit.  And yes, that is too much $$ per use, even though I said 40-50 not 50.  Kokatat should have at least fixed my gasket and then sent it back to me.   Glad you are enjoying your Kokatat.

Okay, yah I re-read the first post. I thought this was just a warranty issue... I see now that they wouldnt even do the wrist gasket repair, with cost 100% paid for.

My bad. Im on your side with that.

Total bummer to hear. My suit needs sent in for wrist gasket repairs and a leak check. I hope they don’t do me dirty because of faded shoulders and blood stains.
